Heritage Week August 17th to 25th.
To celebrate Heritage week two crafting days will be held at Caraiosa Centre. The theme of the week is 'Past Times--Pastimes.' Visit www.heritageweek.ie to see the many events happening in Westmeath and around the country.
Saturday 17th August 10am to 4pm and/or
Monday 19th August 10am to 4pm
Come to Caraiosa Centre in the heart of the midlands, to our old converted farmhouse that is over 200 years old. Learn some of the skills of our ancestors. In the morning you can learn/help to make soup and bread for lunch, scones and jam for break time, and pastry for a delicious apple pie for dessert.
In the afternoon learn how to collect and dry lavender, machine sew your own sachet to fill and hand finish with ribbons and buttons of your choice. All participants will have a lavender sachet to bring home.
Try your hand at knitting, crochet, cardmaking, soap making, jewellry making, making Christmas decorations, or find out about other crafts that may interest you.
We are committed to reduce, re-use, recycle, so a tour of our gardens may provide inspiration.
Tea & Coffee provided; Soup and bread and other products made will be available for lunch. We cannot cater for special diets on this occasion, but feel free to bring your own lunch or something to share.
